 …ㄴ 이후부터 ever since…, after…

저는 12시 이후부터 시간이 괜찮아요. I’m available after 12 o’clock.

 

사다리에서 떨어진 이후부터 허리가 아파요. Ever since I fell off the ladder, my back aches.

시험 준비를 열심히 했는데 결과가 좋지 않아서 준비하나마나였어요. 

I studied hard for the exam, but the results weren’t good, so it was all for nothing.

 

회사에 갔는데 만나고 싶은 회사 동료를 만날 수 없어서 가나마나였어요.

I went to the office, but I couldn’t meet the coworker I wanted to see, so it felt like there was no point in going.

…나 싶다 see if…, I am not sure if…

* The expression “…나 싶다” is often used in negative form, “…지 않나 싶다”, and is employed to convey uncertain thoughts, doubts, or regrets

 

초대한 사람들이 오지 않나 싶어서 밖에 나왔어요.

I came outside to see if the people I invited were coming.

 

그 사람은 입이 가볍지 않나 싶어서 개인적인 이야기를 하고 싶지 않아요. 

I’m not sure if he can keep things to himself, so I don’t want to talk about personal matters with him.

낮잠(을) 자다 to take a nap

오늘 낮잠 잤어요? Did you take a nap today?

 

낮잠 잤더니 개운해요. I feel refreshed after taking a nap.
