저는 미국 사람인데 대한민국에서 살고 있습니다.
대한민국에서 회사원으로 일하고 있습니다.
평일에는 일하고 주말마다 한국어를 공부하고 있습니다.
처음에 한국어를 공부했을 때 너무 어렵다고 생각했습니다.
하지만 꾸준히 공부하다 보니 한국어를 잘 할 수 있게 됐습니다.
사람들이 제 한국어 실력에 놀라고 어디에서 배웠냐고 물어봅니다.
새로운 언어를 배울 때 문법이 중요한 것 같습니다.
그래서 저는 “한국어를 말할 수 있다 (I Can Speak Korean)” 라는 한국어 문법책으로문법을 공부했습니다.
문법을 다 배운 후에 한국 노래도 많이 들었고 한국 드라마도 많이 봤습니다.
왜냐하면 많이 듣고 많이 읽는 것이 중요하다고 생각합니다.
한국어를 유창하게 할 수 있으니까 한국 친구도 많이 사귈 수 있었고 직장에서 승진도 할 수 있었던 것 같습니다.
제 생각에는 새로운 언어를 배우는 것이 새로운 환경에 적응하는데 큰 도움이 됩니다.

Reading
I am American, and I am living in Korea. I am working as an employee in Korea. I am working on weekdays and am studying Korean every weekend.
At first, when I studied Korean, I thought it was very difficult. However, while I studied diligently, I realized that I ended up doing well in Korean. People are surprised at my Korean skill, and they ask me where I learned Korean.
I think that grammar is important when you learn a new language. So, I studied grammar with Korean grammar book called “I Can Speak Korean”. After learning all the grammar, not only did I listen to a lot of Korean songs but also, I watched a lot of Korean dramas. Because I think a lot of listening and a lot of reading are important.
Since I can speak Korean fluently, I think I could make a lot of Korean friends and could promote at work. In my opinion, learning a new language is very helpful to adapt to a new environment.
