친구예요 = 친구이에요 we are friends

 I eat rice. 저는 밥을 먹어요. 

 저희는 친구예요.we are friends

당신들은 한국 사람이에요. you are Koreans.

그들은 부모님이에요. They are parents.

저는  학교에  가요. I go to school.

있다  to have, to stay, to exist, there is(are)

 He has a cat. 그는 고양이가 있어요.  Have, there is, exist,  stay

저는 학교에 있어요. I stay at school.

I have a pen.  저는 펜이 있어요.
